  • PHOTOGRAPHY

    The Photography Discipline focuses on editorial, runway, and e-commerce imagery. Apprentices learn lighting, composition, and on-set collaboration while building a professional portfolio. Pupils work closely with photographer mentors.

  • VIDEOGRAPHY

    The Videography Discipline focuses on capturing editorial, runway, and social media content. Apprentices develop skills in camera operation, framing, lighting, and editing. Pupils partner with videographer mentors to produce dynamic visual media.

  • DIRECTING

    The Directing Discipline focuses on shaping creative vision for commercial, fashion, and digital productions. Apprentices learn casting, storyboarding, visual direction, and team leadership. Pupils work alongside directing mentors to bring scenes and campaigns to life.

WHAT IS MY FOCUS?

  • PHOTOGRAPHY

    •    Learn editorial, runway, and e-commerce photography techniques

        •    Develop skills in lighting, composition, and visual storytelling

        •    Assist with shoots for Urban Academy productions and seasonal campaigns

        •    Build, refine, and curate a professional photography portfolio throughout the duration of the apprenticeship

        •    Practice on-set etiquette, collaboration, and model direction

        •    Learn editing workflows in Lightroom, Photoshop, and other photo editing tools

        •    Work alongside photographer mentors during real UA projects and events

  • VIDEOGRAPHY

    •    Learn video production across editorial, runway, documentary, and social media formats

        •    Develop skills in shot planning, camera operation, framing, and lighting

        •    Capture behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and campaign footage for UA projects

        •    Build a polished video portfolio through ongoing seasonal assignments

        •    Learn editing fundamentals using industry-standard software

        •    Practice sound capture, pacing, and visual rhythm for different platforms

        •    Receive hands-on mentorship from professional videographers

  • DIRECTING

    •    Learn how to direct for commercial, fashion, and social media productions

        •    Develop storyboards, shot lists, and creative treatments

        •    Build leadership skills through casting, team coordination, and on-set communication

        •    Explore visual direction, including composition, color palettes, and stying alignment

        •    Learn pacing, tone, and narrative structure

        •    Direct scenes for Urban Academy seasonal projects and campaigns

        •    Work closely with mentors to refine vision, communication, and execution
