  • DESIGN

    The Design Discipline focuses on creating original garments through sketching, fabric work, and construction. Pupils work with a designer mentor to produce pieces for the annual Urban Academy Fashion Show and other projects.

  • STYLING

    The Styling Discipline focuses on building moodboards, creating looks, and styling for shoots, shows, and campaigns. Pupils work with a styling mentor to develop cohesive visuals for seasonal projects.

  • PRODUCTION

    The Production Discipline focuses on planning and executing fashion shows from start to finish. Pupils learn backstage coordination, front-of-house flow, and full show operations.

WHAT IS MY FOCUS?

  • DESIGN

    • Assist in constructing garments for collections and shows

    • Provide creative input on silhouettes, textiles, and new design concepts

    • Develop sketches, technical drawings, and design boards for review

    • Learn fabric selection, sourcing, and understanding material behavior

    • Participate in fittings and adjustments alongside a designer mentor

    • Create pieces for the annual Urban Academy Fashion Show (Fall Only) and seasonal projects

    • Gain hands-on experience with sewing, draping, and garment construction techniques

  • STYLING

    • Construct and contribute to moodboards for shoots, shows, and campaigns

    • Learn hands-on styling for editorial, runway, and other productions

    • Study color theory, proportions, and character-based wardrobe building

    • Develop on-set styling skills, including quick changes and look adjustments

    • Collaborate with designers and team to complete cohesive looks

    • Learn to style cast members for cohesive group looks.

    • Support styling for the annual Urban Academy Fashion Show (Fall Only) and seasonal projects

  • PRODUCTION

    • Learn how to produce a fashion show from initial planning to final execution

    • Work across FOH, BOH, Media, Beauty, Models, and Audience coordination

    • Assist with creating documents, cue sheets, and backstage layouts

    • Support fittings, lineup organization, and backstage flow

    • Learn how to manage model timing, outfit changes, and runway pacing

    • Collaborate with all teams to ensure a seamless presentation

    • Contribute to the annual Urban Academy Fashion Show (Fall Only) and seasonal productions
